This sonnet was written in the mid-1980s in a flat in Chamber St., Dublin – a street which no longer exists. It is dedicated to poet and long-time friend John McNamee, and is taken from Patrick Stack’s first poetry collection, The Parting (Amethyst Dragon, 2013).
