When I Contemplate the Fading Light of Day audio

This sonnet was written in the mid-1980s in a flat in Chamber St., Dublin – a street which no longer exists. It is dedicated to poet and long-time friend John McNamee, and is taken from Patrick Stack’s first poetry collection, The Parting (Amethyst Dragon, 2013).
This recording was made by the poet in his home on 10 May 2020.
