Unholy Ireland
by Patrick StackUnholy Ireland audio
This poem was written in the mid-1980s during the second last great recession caused by government corruption and mismanagement and is a criticism of the Ireland then. In many ways, the criticism still applies in to the Ireland of today as corruption in the form of cronyism is still rampant.
The poem was recorded at the poet’s home on 02 May 2020, and is published in his first poetry collection, The Parting (Amethyst Dragon, 2013).
