The Blooding

by Patrick Stack

The Blooding audio

The Blooding was written in 2016 and was published in my second poetry collection, Rage (Revival Press, 2017). ‘cipin‘ in the first line is a North Kerry usage and derives from the Irish ‘cipín‘ meaning ‘little stick’ or ‘twig’ – the c is hard (pronounced the same as /k/ in English).

This audio recording was made on 25 May 2020.
