Embrace audio

Embrace was written in 2007 while on a Poetry Therapy weekend on Achill Island, Co. Mayo. It was first published in the now defunct Revival Poetry Journal (#4 October 2007) and later in the Clare Champion newspaper (27 July 2012). It was performed by me accompanied by oboist Tim Hurtz (USA) in the Jean Monet Theatre, UL on 13 August 2008 as part of the informal concert series organised by Adele O’Dwyer for Summer Music on the Shannon.
It is taken from my first poetry collection, The Parting (Amethyst Dragon, 2013). This recording was made on 23 May 2020.
